Bart M Smith, AIA is Owner and Principal Architect of DZN
Partners. Bart has been a licensed Architect since 1991 and received his
Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State
University, San Luis Obispo in 1986. Bart was born and raised in Point Loma,
a Community of San Diego, and graduated from Point Loma High School in 1981.
Bart is very active in the community. He is a past President of the Del Mar-
Solana Beach Sunrise Rotary Club. He also is a past President of the
Downtown Encinitas Mainstreet Association and has been a board member for
them since 1994. Bart was the façade grant committee chairman for Downtown
Encinitas for several years. Bart is a member of the Encinitas Chamber of
Commerce and attends Bethlehem Lutheran Church. While attending Cal Poly,
San Luis Obispo he became active in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and
still has close ties to many of his fraternity brothers.
Bart is a HUGE Padres fan and has held awesome season tickets in left field
every year the Pad’s have played at Petco Park. He’s also the pitcher for
the 2007 Spring Season YMCA Men’s Open League Softball Champions, the
Hackers.
