Renovation, with additions, of an existing one-story single-family residence. The kitchen is relocated into the existing family room and it opens into the considerably expanded great room with an understated fireplace. The great room features vaulted ceilings and expansive window and door openings to create unprecedented openness. Vaulted ceiling is also featured at the master bedroom and ceilings are higher throughout the residence. An addition of an entry, powder room, master bath and walk-in-closet at the front of the residence completes the transformation. Addition of patios with trellis at the rear and side of the residence outside the master bedroom and great room help bring the outside into the residence. Façade improvements impart a modern interpretation of a midcentury aesthetic.
